Horse & Human Trauma Therapy

After recovering from my own traumatic accident in 2012, falling off my horse at speed and breaking my back in multiple places, an then going on to do more than I ever dreamed with horses, I have a hug passion in helping others n this area.

I support equestrians who have experienced the following:

-
Accidents
-
Falls
-
Loss Of Confidence
-
Nerves
-
Loss of Horse
-
Other horse related trauma or stress
My work as a trauma therapist is grounded in the understanding that trauma lives in the body and the nervous system, not just in memory. I support both horses and humans through trauma therapy that is relational, body-based, and attuned, recognising the horse & human partnership as an interconnected system.

Through my training with Equusoma Horse–Human Trauma Recovery and Natural Lifemanship, this work centres on safety, choice, pacing, and nervous-system regulation. Rather than focusing on re-telling traumatic events. My sessions support the gentle renegotiation of trauma through felt experience, presence, and relationship.

I am a licensed psychotherapist and counsellor, working online to support people all over the world.
I also practice EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), supporting the processing and integration of traumatic experiences while remaining responsive to the needs of the nervous system in the moment. EMDR may be used depending on individual needs and readiness.

A significant part of my work supports horse owners and riders who have experienced accidents, falls, or other horse-related trauma. These experiences can leave lasting imprints in the body, often showing up as fear, loss of confidence, hypervigilance, or a sense of disconnection from the horse. Through trauma-informed therapy, I support clients to rebuild safety, trust, and confidence, both within themselves and within the horse–human relationship.

Sessions are collaborative and carefully paced, honouring each person’s history, capacity, and goals. Whether the focus is trauma recovery, confidence building, attachment repair, or restoring connection after a difficult experience, the work is guided by deep listening to both horse and human, allowing meaningful and lasting change to emerge.

I currently have availability online Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
